The West Orchestra has been invited to perform at the upcoming senior graduation on May 16 at 7 p.m. Congratulations to our senior orchestra members: Paul Senner, Jessica McKnight, Tapa'aufanua Fatuleai, and Justin Birchell. We will miss you!

Congratulations to West orchestra senior Tapa'aufanua Fatuleai for winning 1st prize in the State Russian Olympiada competition! Not only is Tapa an excellent violinist, but an accomplished Russian speaker. He will travel to Russia this summer with other winners from around the United States. We love you Tapa!

Congratulations also to West orchestra senior Justin Birchell for his excellent performance as Gregorio in Anchorage Opera's recent production of Romeo and Juliet. You might remember Justin from his memorable performance as John Lennon in the February West Orchestra concert. We appreciate his talents as both a vocalist and cellist!

Stephen Sulich, guest conductor of Anchorage Opera, is visiting the West orchestra and band on Tuesday, April 17th for a special clinic at 7:30 a.m. We are grateful to maestro Sulich for gracing us with his presence at such an early hour! All are welcome to attend this master class.

Support the West Concert Orchestra at the upcoming Large Group Festival, held Tuesday April 24th at 7 p.m. in the West Auditorium. We will be performing selected movements from the Tchaikovsky Serenade. This is also a great opportunity to watch other high school orchestras perform from around the district.
